Faience teapot in the form of a swan, Emile Galle a Nancy. Imported by Burley & Tyrrell Chicago. 1871-1904. One leaf broken.
Very good pre-owned condition with very light signs of age, a missing part on the red flower and a chip in the lid. But it holds up its resale value.
Emile Gallé was a master craftsman who skillfully interpreted the natural world using different shapes and shades of glass and crystal. His pioneering techniques are said to have ‘inscribed in matter the emotion of life’.
