The manuscript consists of multiple individually mounted, decorated panels with dense dark-red/brown Pali lettering and ornate gilded decorative borders.
The piece is presented in an impressive gold-tone wood frame with a deep black mat and protective glazing. The combination of the gilded manuscript panels, traditional Burmese script, and elaborate presentation makes this an unusual piece of Southeast Asian Buddhist art and manuscript history.
The manuscript is associated with the traditional Theravāda Buddhist Kammavācā format, historically used for monastic and ceremonial texts. The language is Pali, while the writing system is Burmese script.
