Dated 1987 from France. Process inks and applied gold foil on embossed paper, lacquered frame, plexiglass glazing.
A bust study of a young woman wearing 1920 style Maquillage, her gaze inclined to the left proper. Her braided hair rendered in printed gold foil onlay is worn up in a beehive arrangement with a single pink carnation inserted as a panache. She wears a gold neck cord supporting four pendant pink carnations. Her form is centered on a circular toned background of small lavender beige dots. The pendant flowers extend beyond the confines of the Roundell into the plain margin. Details of the woman’s face and nostrils are enlivened with precise embossed contours.
Comes with certificate of authenticity from the Laura Pollock galleries Inc.
The frame measures 34 1/2“ x 34 1/2“ in the image is 20 3/4” x 20 3/4”
